It is organised around what has just happened to you — you found a stray, your pet is missing, you can no longer keep an animal — rather than around business categories, because that is how people arrive at a directory like this.

Listings are checked, not guaranteed. They come from public sources — a Google Maps export and a hand-compiled list of local groups. Hours and services change, and businesses close. Call ahead before you travel, especially in an emergency.

No animal listed for adoption belongs to us. Every one is in the care of an independent shelter or rescue, and adoption is arranged with that organisation, never through this site.
Descriptions have different origins. Some came with the original data, some are the organisation’s own wording from their website, and some are summaries written from their page. Each listing records which.
